Prostate cancer, often slow-growing.
Often without any symptoms at first. As it grows, the tumour can mimic BPH: weak stream, pelvic discomfort.
Treatments range from active surveillance for slow forms to surgery or radiotherapy. After surgery, stress leaks are common for a few months and improve with rehabilitation.

Definition
Prostate cancer develops in the prostate gland. At first it causes no symptoms; it is often found through PSA testing or an examination.
Causes
Age, family history and certain genetic predispositions increase the risk.
Diagnosis
- PSA test and digital rectal examination.
- Prostate MRI, then biopsies to confirm and assess aggressiveness (Gleason score).
Treatments
Depending on aggressiveness and age: active surveillance for slow forms, surgery, radiotherapy, hormone treatment. After surgery, urine leaks are common for a few months and improve with rehabilitation.
After prostate surgery, stress leaks are common for several months while continence recovers with rehabilitation. Flexi absorbent underwear at first, then the Men guard as leaks decrease: the protection follows progress.
