Heat and travel: protect the skin and leave without stress

In summer, sweat adds to urine and the skin suffers. When travelling, you need the right stock, the right product for the journey and a plan for arrival. Here is how to do both without giving up going out.

When it is hot

Under a product, heat traps moisture: sweat and urine macerate together and the skin damages twice as fast. The answer is simple: change more often, every three hours by day in strong heat, even if the product seems barely used, pat dry and apply a thin layer of barrier cream in the folds. No talc, which clumps and irritates.

Choose a product with a breathable back and a day-level absorbency, not the night product all day: thicker, hotter. Loose cotton clothing lets air through; tight trousers or synthetic leggings block it.

Keep drinking normally. Cutting water to change less often is a false economy: concentrated urine irritates the bladder and the skin, and the risk of dehydration is real for an older person in strong heat.

The bag: the stock formula

Changes per day multiplied by the number of days, plus twenty per cent: that is the stock to take. Four changes a day for a week make twenty-eight units, thirty-four with the margin. Two spares go in cabin luggage or the handbag, with Nateen wipes, barrier cream and sealed bags for the used one.

A Mati underpad protects the hotel or family bed; Flexi pants or a Combi Ultra cover the night in an unknown bed. Photograph the pack label, size and reference: that is what you need to buy the same product locally.

On the road

By car, a stop every two to three hours: with Flexi pants, the change is done standing next to the car or seated, without lying down. An underpad on the seat is reassuring for long journeys in the heat.

By plane or train, change just before boarding, choose an Ultra product for a long journey, and know that accessible toilets exist on board and in stations. A doctor's letter is not needed for products, but can help for an extra cabin bag.

On arrival, do not carry the whole month: order in advance from the regional store, nateenusa.com for North America, nateen.ae for the Gulf, nateen.com for the rest of the world, delivered to the holiday address.

Signs that should not wait

Redness that does not blanch under the finger, shiny or cracked skin in the folds, a strong smell despite changes, very dark or very scarce urine in strong heat: these are general guidance, not a diagnosis, but they justify changing right away, giving drink, and calling a doctor if it persists the next day.

FAQ

Can I wear a swimsuit with a product?

Flexi pants are worn under a loose swimsuit and do not show, but they absorb water if you swim. For the beach, keep them dry and change right after swimming.

Is a special summer product needed?

No. The right day product, with a breathable back, changed more often, is enough. Frequency protects the skin, not a different product.

Can I take products in the cabin?

Yes, without any particular limit; keep two within reach and the rest in the hold. A doctor's letter can help for an extra bag.
